Hi,
I lost my jon w/big software consultancy. I found another project and then applied for H1-B transfer with Indian consulting company. Its been almost 1 month since new company have filed for H1-B transfer and renewal (my H1-B was expring on July 6th, 2009).
so far, i've not received any H1-B recipt. I'm worried about it. I'm also getting married in the last w/e of Nov, 2009. Is it a good idea to file for Premimum processing.

Here is the new record. Both mine and my wife's got approved within 10 days. Received/Notice date: June 16th. Got the approval emails today June 26th.
This was at TSC and we had done paper filing through my company lawyer.
Looks like they want to milk us again next year for another renewal.

i dont think its a controversy. mr. Gotcher does not agree with the interpretation. Maybe its a way to generate some additional revenues for his firm by increased traffic to the blog and potentially a class action lawsuit on behalf of the ROW people.

I got the email "card sent for production" yesterday... EAD was applied last week of May!
My Guess... they probably got a MEMO to drop everything and approve all EAD apps before June 30th :rolleyes:

With a due respect, I am differ with your statement on Competeamerica. Competeamerica has always promoted H1B and EB provision together. I haven't seen any time that they promoted only H1B.
I spoke with one guy at Competeamerica and he told me that IV is neutral on H1B issue eventhough all members have came through that root. Personally I am very positive with Competeamerica and it is not good for us to speak negative for this organization.
I know CA promotes both , but issue is whether they do that equally.
I have a feeling h1b is more on agenda.

Being an Indian does matter in this discussion....in most of ur post ...u r referencing people from ROW...I understand what they would be feeling...that FYI was for u to understand that if I could get offended then people from ROW surely will...
there r lot of people on EB3 ROW who are either nurses, engineers etc...They are well qualified...and u don't have a right to call them unskilled...Period..End the discussion

Yes, this is true with any representative we call.
The rep will be given a tally of X ppl called in support of which Y were our constituents. The more Y's we get, the better on any call, but X's are also necessary to call. The more US employers are part of Y, even better. I managed to get 3 local friends to call.

I agree 2001 and 2002 was really bad job market and not many new labor filed. But things started getting better end of 2002/2003. And I know many of my friends filed EB3. Later some of them got substitute labor and got their GC in 2004/2005. So not really sure if it may go forward that faster 2003...2004...I wish it does.

I wonder why nobody takes up the cause for H4 visa holders who are mostly women and who becomes completely dependant on their husbands once they enter this country .With retrogression and the endless wait for GC it means losing all the skill sets that you have and all the opportunites that come along just because you donot have a EAD card. Worst of all nobody who speaks so much about womens emancipation seems to care.

A little hesitant initially but it all went quite well. She took the message, name and the location I was calling from. Took less than a minute and the lady was super nice.

So assuming this is all correct and comes to pass what will EB GC applicants do from the date this is decreed to take effect (May 15th, June 19th October 1st etc.) until October 2008? Will there just be no applications allowed for over a year and existing applications made past the cut-off date get scrapped?
