My PD is Dec 2006. I got my EAD 15 days ago and the card is valid for 2 yrs. So the guy that approved my card doesn't believe Dec 2006 is a possibility this year!

People were very happy with the last USCIS announcement but we all forgot about pain of people who are stuck in years of backlog. Though some of those unfortunate may have used harsh or improper language, but they had all the right to express their feelings. We all talk about Gandhian philosophy, but we need to be more tolerant. Before we ask to ban anyone from our forum, please try to put yourself in their shoes.

Airline industry has changed a lot. People still asume that travelling on a plane is something aristrocratic. Not any more. Airline industry has realized that mostly what consumer cares for is "price" and also that most of the travellers are "obligatory travellers" particularly on international flights. So the rules have been written with lots of ambiguity and also since international travel involves multiple countries the legal battle is also not often successful against the airlines. Another thing is that most often people purchase tickets from agents and not directly from the airlines and often there are multiple airline cariers involved in international flights. It is a very complicated issue and it is kept that way so that the consumer has litterally no way to complain.
My advice; Treat airlines just like a cab. Dont expect good treatment from the staff and dont respect them either. Dont behave as if you are in a 5-star hotel once you enter the airport instead feel that you have entered a railway station which is the least predictable. Enjoy the fun if your flight is on time but dont always plan to be on time. Forget eating good food on flights and dont argue if you get bad because that is what it is most of the time "bad". Good behaviour from the flight attendents / customer service...No not at all. I dont expect them to behave properly at all. If one happens to deviate from the norm and behave nicely I just smile back and acknowledge the craziness.
Finally; If you have decided to take a flight to somewhere remember to enjoy all the rest of the trip and be prepared for the worst part of it that begins the moment you step into an airport and get out of the F****** place. It's important to hold the meeting soon as IV core is planning major actions in the coming days. It's highly critical to get organized ASAP without any further delay. There'll be future meetings soon, if there are major actions planned in coming days. Those who miss the event (due to unavoidable circumstances) can attend future meetings which can be held in Farmington Hills, Novi, Flint etc. based on participation.
I have no issues driving to Novi, Farmington Hills, Novi or Lansing for that matter. When I can go all the way to DC, I can drive anywhere in MI to attend the meeting. The idea behind choosing Troy is that majority of participants need not travel long distance to accomodate one or two members. As of now majority is from Oakland County. If it turns out that majority is from Lansing, Flint, Canton... wherever, I'll drive down there.
There's no need to feel left out if any are from far off places (Lansing etc.) and can't drive down to Troy. You can participate by calling the cell numbers of the participants (if any of you PM me, I can give mine). However, members living nearby need to appear in person (cell-phone participation will not be entertained)

We are not talking about what's beneficial to the United States. What we are discussing is what the law says. It doesn't matter if it is beneficial to the United States or not, if it is the law of the land then everyone has to abide by it; even the government. I think everyone has a different opinion on what's beneficial for this country. If you talk to the people at numbersusa.com, they will say that H1B program and employment based immigration is the worst thing that happened to this country and should be stopped right at this moment yet we think that this is the best thing for this country. Im sure you are highly qualified and educated ... think and read ...

u and ur non-retrogressed friend have my support for an expedited process since u got US advanced degree that make u better suited for this market.. u should be talking STEM.. i am talking about the disparity in available opportunities to come here back in our homelands. Individual examples aside, I trust statistics, you'll find that each year a handful of giant offshoring companies grab more than half the H1 quota.. is it my streotyping imagination that infosys, wipro and satyam don't hold job fairs in Romania and they only make these opportunities available in retrogressed countries? and don't give me the condescending excuse that if these companies only hire in retrogressed companies then talented, educated people must only exist in the retrogressed countries.
Anyway, i had this discussion many times here .. radical issue where people hardly change their minds..

Anyway, continuing with my example. My friend and I both found jobs after a few months of struggle in small boutique consulting companies (run by Americans), mind you no offshoring. In fact my friend's sponsor is Indian, my sponsor is American!

So to say, Level II is to decide on salary level...not only skill level(i understand there is a co-relation b/w them). Most of the consultants will have low level so as to keep themselves safe and keep low level to be safe.
I guess this is what DOS is looking at.

I totally agree with you days_go_by. The US immigration law sucks. One the one hand they will keep on syaing that we have shortage of manpower and on the other hand they try to restrict. Every single head counts....even the persons on H4... H4's can also contribute to the economy...rather than a simple HEAD Count in this country.

i think in ur case u can give "Parolee (AOS)" or "Paroled pending AOS"
