I filed my labor twice with Fragomen and got rejected in 2001 and 2002.
Just for H1B visa extension they took more than 9 months. Although they have all my papers for months. Eventually, I had to leave my employer for good.
Stay away from them if you have choice.
In my case they took 10 months to file my labor back in 2001. Instead of filing my case in June 2001, they filed my LC only in the middle of Feb 2002.
Also they never provide any update. Whenever you call them, they are always away from the desk and wanted us to leave a message. Even if you leave a message you don't expect any response from them.
When my I-140 was approved back in 2006, they filed my 7th year H1 extension. They chose 1 yr extension instead of 3 yrs. I pointed out that mistake 3 times and i never singed the form till they corrected it. It took four attempts to file my H1b extension.

Just called USCIS and told her that My application was mailed on Jun 28th and it got delivered on July 02. I also told her that my PD is May 2003 (hence i'm eligible to file in June)..
She told me that since i mailed it in June and this Notice goes into effect in July 02 my application WILL NOT be rejected... She asked me to wait for receipt notice :)

I had gone thru a layoff experience 3 years back.
They laid my team off in April, but for some reason said that they will keep us on payroll till July (effectively we got a paid holiday for 3 months :-) ) and gave us severance on top of that.
I took the 3 months to do job search and started the new job in July (technically there was a month gap between when I stopped being on payroll and when I started new job).
Recently when I asked old employer for employment verif letter for I140, the letter said I was employed till July of 04.
In general my feeling is, as long as you have paystubs and employment verif letters that you can use to claim you were employed till a certain date, you should be ok.
How much of a grace period on top of that USCIS gives is a hard qn to answer (just like anything else related to USCIS) ?

Hi,
I want to know weather can I apply AP for my wife while she is in US post it to India if she has to go to India before it gets approved.
As there is the situation my wife need to go to India in July and I am planning to apply for her AP, can I send it over to her once the AP is approved or dose she need to be present in US at the time of approval.

As far as I know, AP needs to be applied while the person is physically present in the US. Once it is applied and receipt notice has been received, the person can then travel. you can certainly send the AP to you wife in India.

2) I don't think there was any core member yelling, just a bunch of enthusiastic supporters. But I appreciate the feedback and understand the frustration. It takes different things to motivate different people, which is why I am looking for real feedback to improve moving forward. I'm sure you understand, politely asking once or twice many not get through the flurry of daily posts that happen on this board :)

If you read my post carefully, I am suggesting this 'in addition' to what's already on IV's agenda. Why can't we work on this item in conjunction to what's already being worked on? I have started preparing a fraud list from a bunch of websites like desicrunch.com. I noticed that almost 90% of firms reported there are fraud firms and it makes me wonder about the efficiency of local authorities. Also I don't see how targeting blood sucking desi firms would feed the anti-immigrant trolls. I would think we Indians would benefit the most since it would increase our credibility in general. Thanks for considering this idea at least. I would like to know other people's thoughts based on my clarification here. This drive might clean up cases freeing up visa numbers for genuine EB cases from India. Why should I be in line with crooks ahead of me? It doesn't make sense whatsoever.
And yes, my contribution to IV so far as been $1000 and involvement in other drives. Your question to me regarding my contribution made me squirm a bit since you might have categorized me with many of IV's freeloaders. I think they came up wit 5K figure just to say F.. off in a gentle way...They never thought that we'll collect 5K and give them. I really think this should be sent out to media and immigration subcommittees, complaining we are paying hefty fees to live in the country on the contrary we are asked for this kind of money to get information which USCIS should have been publishing atleast quarterly...

Not disclosing the issues they are working on, not disclosing how the funds are distributed, not disclosing the lobbyist they are using. Who in the world calls that leadership!
That is the reason that no one wants to contribute. First get some results, show people results for what they have paid for. Then ask for more money. Most people I talk to are confident that IV will achieve nothing given their track record. I tried to convince a colleague to join IV. He bet with me that they will not be able to achieve even this filing I-485 issue. He bet that he will join and pay if they did.
I know IV works like dIVorced wIVes club and saying anything negative is taboo. Anyone saying anything negative is crushed with (p)curses. Only good mushy things are allowed here. So here it is: We will get our GCs by the end of the month. Hallelujah!

One way is to invest regularly in 401 K. By that way you let your investments grow tax free and if you have to or go back to India then you can withdraw them next year, TAX free or less tax. Thus you actually pay less tax and ultimately you might pay lesser tax than your social security. Who cares if the social security is being taken from me.
I heard that if you are non resident of USA, the tax rate is 30% ( for Indian residents). Also I heard that you can collect SS if you have paid 10 years SS tax even if you don't have GC/ citizenship at the age of 60. But we don't know whether the SS will be there by that time when we turns 60!.:rolleyes: Don't know whether we will be there!. :eek:
The Dollar value may go upside down by that time:cool:

It will be a different ball game! It can be handled effectively without limiting numbers.
I think for first meeting 10-12 are enough. Let us meet and decide upon the strategy to have more people. I would prefer not to have lot of people in the first meeting.

To add to this.. Some will think that something good just going to happen since next year is election.. Not sure what makes them think that..
Some are extremely negative-- They will say doesn't matter what you guys do,nothing will happen.
People just don't want to soil their hands in cleaning their house but want others to do it for them.
Lot of people consider it below dignity to do something about GC related stuff, many just want to live they way they are, no ambitions, no motivation to work towards a change.

Andy, 25+ million before they petition for their parents, grandpas, uncles, nieces, bothers and sisters, etc. Then in few years do the math and tell me whether that should be a whole lot more :-) But who cares as long as we get our GC, right ?
Are you sure it is possible to sponsor your nieces, uncles etc if you are permanent resident? Don't you have to be a citizen to do that? I always thought you have to be a citizen to do that.

Now when explained like this anyone would understand. Also do see the point you are making and is worth a try. Is the core team looking into this? Do they need any assitance from us?
Some are good, but some are hard nuts, they take immigrants for granted. A lot of silent suferers constantly remain silent and crib about these Attorneys because they cannot move out of their companies and have to depend on them.
