If CNN drops Lou that will not pass CIR or recapture. There are so much Lou Dobbs are there in USA. It is a waste of time.

I believe in freedom of speech but Dobbs is using the CNN platform to spew hate. A legitimate debate is fine but hate speech is not ok.
I used to believe that ignore him was the best way to deal with him but after seeing some of the so called Tax parties, I am starting to think that ignoring him does not work.
Please also post this to other web forums, facebook, twitter and send emails to your friends and colleagues asking them to sign the petition.

I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. This is a question to Admin, i have a recursive donation going on, I would like to make a one time donation and stop the recursive donation.

I am sure there are people here who started the green card application process but also wanted to go to school (e.g., for MBA) during the green card process. Is it possible to get an F-1 visa to attend school full-time while your green card is still pending?
I heard during a lawyer's presentation that it is very hard (almost impossible) to get an F-1 visa if you have started the green card application process, since by starting it, you have declared an intent to immigrate.
However, I have also heard that it is easy to get an F-1 visa even after starting the green card application process, but your green card application will be canceled.
Please let me know if you have any knowledge or experience in this. Thanks.

You are right .. the US has a big headstart; but that doesnt mean it will remain that way forever. For instance, close to 40% of all US patents are being bagged by either non-US entities or foreign outposts of US organizations. For a comparison, it was just 10% in 1995 .. dont remember where I read this, but I will post the link if I can find it again.

South of Brazil sounds good to me but my husband is not open to it and he is the one who is Brazilian :rolleyes:
He is much more in favor of Europe and since I have EU passport we can basically live anywhere and he would be able to work the next day :D I feel like I have put so much effort into this by now that I'm not walking away this close. We will hang on and make decisions once we have GC and options to chose. You are so close! Don't give up now after waiting so long! Is your situation at work that bad? Is your wife working?

All the written agreements are valid in most of the states. but you can argue on the terms of agreement. He cannot ask her to stay in the company for 4 years. If she works in that company for 1 year, her employer should recover all the money he spent on her.
The best way is to work there for 1 or 2 years and walk out without paying anything. Or just pay the filing fee and get out right away.

EB3 retrog is completely hopeless in next 2 or 3 years unless the legislation release is passed. Lobbying is the only way to influence.
2 to 3 years is just wishful thinking. This is a permanent problem that we are faced with. Not to mention all the delays at the AOS stage including FBI checks and all that jazz. The only hope is the SKIL bill. WE NEED THIS MORE THAN ANY THING ELSE. I think we are at the cross-roads and this bill will well determine our future in this country

i dont get it...how come programmers guild gets a say in everything when they cant even get members to join or to even get people to be on their board of directors?

My drivers license is expiring in October as well as my H-1B. My company has applied for H-1B renewal in July and it seems it will not get renewed before end of October. I have an approved I-140. Yes, medical forms been changed. Please refer USCIS site for correct form. It is valid for one year but form should be correct.

� Medical form which the USCIS designated civil surgeon is required to use was initially revised on 04/08/2008, followed by the USCIS announcement that any I-693 form version earlier than 04/08/2008 should not be used by the civil surgens from May 1, 2008. In the middle of June, the USCIS released again new version form dated 06/05/2008 and announced that the old version other than 06/05/2008 should not be used effective 07/14/2008. July 14, 2008 is tomorrow. However, without a news release, the USCIS form site extended invalid date of forms earlier than 06/05/2008 to 08/01/2008. Please now note that "Previous editions will be accepted only for medical exams conducted before August 1, 2008. Medical exams conducted on or after August 1, 2008, require use of the 06/05/08 edition," according to the form site instruction.
� There was a confusion in June 2008 on the validity of older version form I-9 because the USCIS form site instructed that the older version was not acceptable from certain date. In Vancouver, the USCIS authority confirmed that the form instruction was an error and the USCIS form instruction has since been corrected. It will help tremendously if the USCIS releases an announcement that the current I-693 form instruction is indeed correct and the civil surgeons can use the I-693 forms which are older than 06/05/2008 version can still be used. In the meantime, the civil surgeons and the immigrants should check on the date of the medical examination with the I-693 form site to protect themselves from any changes. The form site indicates that the information was updated on June 26, 2008. One wonders whether the civil surgeons may be better off to start using the 06/05/2008 version form from even now just to avoid any confusion in the future. This is kind of fraud. My previous employer was not ready to give me experience letter so one of my friend recommended same but I did not feel comfortable doing that ( not due to fear of USCIS REF ). Just recently I came to know from one of my friend that INS randomly checks with employers and verifies experience letters. So keep your fingure crossed.
To qualify for EB2, you need detail experience letter if you do not have masters. Also I do not think you need experience letter at LC stage, but usually lawyer asks all these upfornt because they can advertise it as per roles and responsibilities performed by you. You still have time to talk to your lawyer and take that letter back. In meantime talk to your ex-employer or manager to issue letter ...

so when is a visa no. allocated?
say, i filed in july when visa bulletin was current and now its retrogressed to 2004. my PD is 2006. so can it happen that if all runs smooth and application is complted, i can get my GC, even tough visa bulletin may not have yet cut past my PD? so in a nut shell, visa no. is given when 485 is recipted or when its approved?
