I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.
How bout having a lame rule saying that GC for people with I.Q of 140 and above?

How bout having a lame rule like if you have a family you will be penalized by putting you at the end of the line for GC?
The list can go endless..

Why did you file EAD? Waste of money. You will be getting your GC anytime. EB2 ROW is curent.
Yes it is current. But I don't know when they'll be approving it. Besides now we pay $1010 for I-485/131/765. There's no breakdown.

EB2 -> PD Sept 2003
I140-> Applied to NSC-> Approved by TSC->March 2007
I485->Applied to NSC -> Delived to NSC on 26th June-> checks cashed on Aug 9th by TSC
TSC is moving like a snail. Last week we saw just couple of cases getting receipt or checks chased for Jun 26 or less and even this week TSC has not moved a day.
Is there anyone who got their checks cashed for the TSC case submitted to NSC on June 27th onwards?

Make and take some big posters (small with BOLD letters would help) with you...just the gathering wont help that much unless we have some big poster in hands. This would help if we are pictured by media.

I think IV core shud take the matter with USCIS or the concerned people.
This is really not fair at all. What is the point of the PD then and to top it of there is no one we could contact and have them listen to our concerns.

i think this walk should be postponed out to atleast a week or two away.
Firstly i live in Santa clara myself and i had no clue about this till now (less than 24 hours away)
If we organize this the right way you can get atleast a few hundreds of people.
Wait till July 10th, see if we get media coverage with the whole gandhigiri idea.
Organize this and publicize.. start email chains .. for example cisco/oracle etc have lots of H1bs.
hang placards with the number of years you have waited/you educational qualification/ SSN tax and other taxes paid...
make a single file.. and walk about 2 miles without any slogans.
get the media to cover this event appropriately.

SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

IV could not even collect 20K in the Washington DC drive. I hardly saw EB3 folks contributing. If every EB3 person contributes 50USD, it will be enough to run a campaign. Action is the key, not posting in forums.
Pl don't make blanket statements such as this. BTW, I contributed to DC advocacy and many other EB3s also did the same.
Fixing the language so that folks do not take it personally.

Careful my friend. Porting rules will be as tough as the rules for applying in Eb2. If you make porting difficult, you will set a higher standard for the approval of your application in Eb2 ending up with the possible rejection of yours and other Eb2 applications.
Why would you want to stop someone eligible to apply in Eb2? If someone has met all the criteria, the same criteria you had to fulfill when applying in Eb2, then what is the problem?

Equating labor substitution with porting is real silly. Labor substitution was clamped down, because of abuse, however it didn't mean that it was wrong by its very virtue. However the abuse lead to its closure.
As for porting, I don't see any scope for abuse. Cuz the process is in such a way, that one has to refile labor, 140, and all the exact procedures similar any freshly new EB-2 candidate would. The only difference is that at the end, one has option to request his/her earlier date.
And rightly so, because there's a difference between two Eb-2 filers. One who has not filed anything before, and one has filed "SOMETHING" before. That "something" holds the merit.

I understand and I have been there. I can tell you one thing, FIGHT them. Don't sit and wait, write, call, contact DHS, USCIS, your local Congress person, contact ACLU.org, some non profit organizations who have been helping immigrants like you and I.
