Hi
I just applied for a mortgage from BOA. The loan officer did not recognize what AOS was and asked me for an H1B - which has expired.
I explained about AOS and EAD and told her I could give the I-485 receipt, and she took in my application.
But I'm worried that my loan will be denied after underwriting - my closing is on 5/26 and I probably will not hear from the bank until second week of may.
Does anyone know of Banks in MA that give loans to EAD?

I agree with you. One of my friends got RFE regarding Birth Ceritificates and medical certificates. I would not be surprised if they ask me the same.
So, how did you submit the Birth certificate then? Can you please share the experience?
My brother managed to get one for me. the issue was that my BC had wrong date and first name (my uncle had reported my birth with that name which was never used again). My brother talked to the officials, gave affidavits, chai-paani etc and they agreed to correct date and put both first names with a slash(/) in between. phew ...what an experience dealing with the Indian beauraucrats.

From what I understand many 485 applications(not all)received in accordance to the June bulletin MAY have been preassigned a visa number(from the leftover 60,000 visas) NOT an approval.

Although they are not supposed to pre assign numbers without name checks etc, is'nt it obvious that they might have done that??. They have a lot of cases to approve until Sept 30(from that 60,000 number)
no its not obvious. They have a big backlog of 485s still, and that 60,000 visa numbers can be used up without them having to assign some of those numbers to June 07 filers. See the ombudsmans report for details. If anything, they'll keep some of those visa numbers for people who have been in namecheck long enough, and are expected to get out soon.

I am preparing an article for NY times explaining our sufferings! Please contribute your thoughts.
1. What is America losing because of our prolonged wait for Green Cards?
2. How people who have green cards are contributing to the country as a whole ?
3. What if the whole green card process takes less than 3 years ?
Few obvious things are we would have bought a house, gone up in our carrier ladder, spend more and contribute to the economy, our spouse could have started working etc....
I am looking for thoughts and experience other than the above things.

Bodran, pl file your I-140 and your & sons I-485 immediatly..I am sure your I-140 will NOT take 2 years (as you are in EB3 ROW) to approve by which your son will be protected before he turns to be 21.
So, hurry up & file I-140/I485 ASAP and your son will be safe under CSPA (Child Status Protection Act). Also, pl read CSPA rule..I remember it was published on Feb 14, 2003...pl check..

i have seen so many people got approved from wells fargo on 485 pending stage???
i'm in same problem if somebody can light on this.....
Is 485 application notice and Ead plus I 140 will be enought for Refinance from well fargo?
i have current mortgage with well fargo and i'm trying to do refinance after 4 years with good credit history with no payment missed in last 4 years.
any help would be really helpful to talk with wells fargo

I am confused about receipt date?
Notice date is when the receipt notice is generated- That's simple
Is receipt date the date when they do data entry into the system or is it the date when they receive the package even though they may do data entry a month later?
In other words people who filed there application on July 2nd,3rd etc ... and lets say USCIS takes 2 months to receipt those cases.. then after 2 months when the notice is generated won't it have a July 2nd receipt date? for July 2 filers?

It is April new numbers for the quarter will be available.My guess is EB2 I will move beyond April 1 2004.Once it crossess 2004 then it will be almost in 2006 not many cases in 2005.
