I disagree. Changes in laws do not happen overnight and any efforts that core is making cannot be made public all the time. If they can get thousands of people the benefit of moving to EAD etc. then I am sure they are working behind the scenes to get more favorable changes done when the time is right. I have faith in their ability.
Moreover since I am not actively volunteering in any activities the least I can do is contribute. So I call on everyone to contribute for your cause - none of us is doing anyone a favor by contributing. We are DIRECTLY favoring us by making a contribution.

I am sure IV core is working hard on the issues but there is lack of clarity as an organization.When the bulletins come out and dates dont move forward significantly, people start with various ideas ranging from flower campaign to eliminating country cap to EB3 - EB2 portability to ....( Most of them die by the middle of the month).If we look at the past, contribution campaigns have been successful ( up to reasonable extent) when there is a favorable bill on the floor and people see some hope. I remember till last year there was a guy ( I think Chandu13 ) who tried to motivate people for contribution by calling them coward, lazy.....Believe me it never worked...
So I think it is time to get serious and have some synergy and that might motivate people to come forward, participate and contribute.

IV could not even collect 20K in the Washington DC drive. I hardly saw EB3 folks contributing (based on my observation, I might be wrong so take it easy). If every EB3 person contributes 50USD, it will be enough to run a campaign. Action is the key, not posting in forums. Hope we get out of this EB2 vs EB3 and as focus on visa recapture.

Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

"EB-2 India. This category is expected to remain unchanged or to move very slowly forward (by a week or so) in the short-term. This is mainly caused by the fact that many EB-3 India applicants (there are approximately 60,000 EB-3 India pending cases) are �porting� their priority dates into the EB-2 India category and are thus taking visa numbers.
EB2 India is slowwly becoming EB3 as thousands are porting from EB3 to EB2. Some of them are really worthy of EB2 and some of them are fradulent.
EB2 India applicants should wake up from their celebratio of a few months leap and get ready for slow movement or retro.
Guys wake up and fight to make the porting rules veryu strong if not stop porting. The rule should be if I140 for porting is denied then the applicatnt should loose his/her initial EB3 priority date also as he /she has indicated that he/she is no longer working in the position as described in EB3 labor. This will make sure that fradulent applicants cannot port from EB3 to EB2.
P.S: I know I will get thousands of REDs. I do not care... EB2 I guys wake up.. Time is running out.. EB2 I will very quickly become same as EB3I.

Even if the republicans loose heavily but retain control of congress, they will be mortally wounded and so things will be hard to predict. The stock market has betted that control of both houses will remain with GOP.
That's why I said before;some people are pretty sure that if democrats win, we will be alright. In my view it may turn out to be the opposite. Democrats favor illegal immigration. I think they are less inclined to pass our SKULL bill alone. I strongly believe that that democrats would rather attach our bill to the CIR/illegal alien amnesty bill, which still will be controversial to pass. Even if Sen. Specter and his team manage to flood America with illegal aliens, then we may take a hit from the collateral effects caused by millions of applications at USCIS.

My attorney just emailed me, she received receipt notices for 485, EAD and AP for both me and my wife.
My application was received on July 2nd 9:01 AM, if it matters it was signed by R Mickels. Also, there is no LUD change on my I140 application, so I guess LUD changes on I-140 mean nothing.
I have not seen the notices yet so I dont know what the notice dates are.

that Senior Members would be more involved in posting on this website. It makes a lot of difference if core members who have a closer perspective of the truth could respond to some questions on these threads. No response, in my opinion only helps in making the website dead and promotes unproductive arguments and squabbles here.
It is "good" that they are not talking. That means they are working harder and something good is expected to happen.
If there is more talk then outcome is less. This is my experience from past one plus year from IV and other immigration forums. When everyone get "too much" excited and keep posting madly about some "immature deal", at the end of the day nothing "concrete" is achived.
Let IV do their work. I am hopeful something "good" will happen in near future.

hope that means they are willing to talk about giving EAD. If we get EAD all the lawsuits will be withdrawn. The law does not say AOS applications should not be accepted when there are no visa numbers available, the law only says AOS cannot be approved when visa numbers are not available. USCIS internal regulations says they will not accept AOS applications when priority date is not current. by now its quite apparent that USCIS has broken a lot of there own internal regulations just to make sure the visa numbers are used up before july 2 2007. Then can easily accomodate the EAD for july filers. It all depends upon the pressure exerted on USCIS and DOS

Between the Iraq war and tensions in the mid-East, she will actually welcome such easy battles. This administration is extremely smug.
