The first bulletin with Eb1 and Eb2 spill over.
Last year:
Mar 2008- India Eb2 U
Apr 2008- India-Eb2 01 Dec 03
This year may be:
Mar 2009- India Eb2 15 Feb 04
Apr 2009- India Eb2 28 Feb 05 (My PD :))
As per March 2009 visa bulletin EB2-China is already 15 Feb 05.
If USCIS repeats last year's pattern of spill over from April then both EB2 China and India move together.
As they move China's dates they need to move India's dates(both share the spill over as retrogressed countries).
Keep guessing on EB2-China's forward movement and most likely would be the same for EB2-India :)

I agree, what did I do for IV for the past few months, nothing. Responded to one or two threads. Been very busy at work and was not able to contribute constructively to this organization. I am wondering how many of us are in this same boat, what are we all actually doing in helping the organization from either volunteering, getting more people to open their eyes and recognize a problem and organize and mobilize people. I have been trying for the past 4 years and its not easy and not always successful. To see the leadership team constantly juggling between work and working on different initiatives and putting in self less hours really requires appreciation. Now I think its worth asking ourselves, how much have we done or are willing to do to take us to where all of us want to be IMHO.

I do not get it either. They seem to have this very complex formula to determine where to move the cutoff dates or they simply roll a dice. Is there no transperancy. Sometimes I figure I should just not be bothered. It is black box!!. But I can really not do that!. Atleast we are participating actively in the call campaigns. But is that all we can do?

It is an Aug 08 fiasco instead of July 07 and this time they are being a lil reserved and not making the dates all the way current. Ofcourse there would be some lucky draws who get their GCs, we will have to wait and watch coz thatz all we (most of us) can do at this point.
Guess what, they are all celebrating my Birthday and that is why.

Stop sending money to parents and in-laws, if its possible. Otherwise, maintain parity by sending money in small amounts to both parents. Its stupid to say my wife is not working so she has no business to send money to her parents. Its so wrong and I'm surprised folks can think like this. Marriage is about sharing and even a child will tell you that. If the in-laws are any sensible they won't accept gifts from the son-in-law but its for them to decide.And stop receiving any gifts from either sides.
I don�t agree with this point. If I am doing something and taking care of my parents its my duty. it does not mean my wife also have to do tit-for-tat. It depends on the situation and circumstance. If she is the only daughter, her family situation is bad then we can think about it.
In this case, when her two other sisters and specially her brother also in the US, I don�t see the reason to support the in-laws. If you make more than enough it�s different. But when you are struggling to make your ends meet...I don�t support your point on this.

Hi Hebron,
I have filed EB2 & EB3 with the same company (As explained earlier). EB3 as Programmer Analyst and EB2 as Database Adminstrator ( MS + 2 yrs exp.). I think it is better to take some expert attorney advice on your case. It does not hurt if you consult ( or crosscheck ) with some other attorney about your case. Most of the legal experts charge around $250 to evaluate your case and suggest.

Or have hit midlife crisis? Now suddenly after reading all this I feel like giving up too... take whatever I have saved, put in the bank in our homeland and live on interest if I get 8% interest I will be happy, do charity work if possible start a business or just retire...no work... Stare at the Wall :)

For calculation purpose, I think they used up 140,000 * 85% * 65% = 77,000 (approx). Look at page 3 (last but one para) "According to DOS, applicants for adjustment of status currently account for 25% of annual family-based visa allocations and 85% of annual employment-based visa allocations."

On you are so wrong. PD porting is legal, and there is nothing unethical about it. The only thing we need to put a cork on is to your brain, which, along with the surrounding matter, currently is in the part which expels bodily waste.
If Substution labor was ethical, PD porting from EB3 to EB2 is ethical.
Ithink PD Porting might be legal at this time but not ETHICAL.

I don't understand why EB3-I is a lost cause. Isn't the percentage distribution for the various categories taken into account? I don;t think I understand how the percentage distrubution works probably. Can anyone please explain?
India and China get most of their share through not only the allocated %age but also through the spillover from ROW. Since there is less spillover from ROW for EB-3, the amount of visa for EB-3I is less.

We are not only screwed by the US government, but by our Desi Employers, inbetween rats who are the middleman.
Look for GC and try to work on 1099 which is the best deal.
We need to expedite our views for Jobs and GC. We are fighting for 1200$ of cheque's when there'nt more jobs to keep our status legal and our GC is costing us more like the Medical Insurance.
Getup and think what are our priorities.
