    I would like some information on the H1B quota starting Oct 2007 that people will begin filing for starting this April. How soon is the quota for those with advanced degrees from the US likely to get filled? Can someone answer when the quota was used up last year - i.e. how many days after the start was the quota filled?

    Though not directly related with immigration, I really think everyone should see this movie and hope they would not get into a mess by some sudden medical emergency and the related medical costs. I guess we are ok as long as we work some big company providing reasonable health coverage. Bench time with the desi firms could be a wrong time to get sick.

    Moore is somewhat one sided but the scam that this is, I can forgive him for it

    Hello,

    I am from India and currently visiting USA on B2 visa. I recently got a job with a very reputed firm in US and applied for an H1B but my application reached USCIS after the H1B quota was full.

    I really want to work for my new employer and would like to know what other options do I have to obtain work permit in USA other than L1 Visa?

    If it is a non profit research org or institute of higher education then H1 will not be counted towards quota. On the other hand if you have the credentials you can try for "O" VISA

    hey everyone I was trying to download the swift 3d because a pparently it sweems like a cool one but the download trial wasn't accuriable anyway I looged into the net store and checked the full program, it costs about 159$ so I guess I want to download the trial first to give it a try before spending that much amount of money so if any of you know where to donwlaod it just plz post me a message with the title"FOund what you wanted" on your subjectt space.=)

    Can I count part time experience obtained before my Bachelors degree for an EB2 petition?

    I have 2.5 years of part time experience, can we use this and apply with MBA+1 requirements?

    Fancy meeting you here, dohko! The experience at half time can be counted to be 1/2 time itself - i.e. 2 years under 20 hrs./week = 1 yr. full time.
    Your experience however has to be obtained AFTER your Bachelor's degree.

    My wife is going for h1b stamping in Chennai on Jan 17th. She converted from H4 to H1 and and is doing her first year residency in a community hospital in New York. We have all required documentation. Letter from Hosp, 797, 129, LCA, offer letter, ECFMG certification, USMLE transcripts, degree, school transcripts.
    In addition, I am asking her to take utility bills and bank certificates and paystubs.
    As she was in h4 for 2 years, would the VO be asking her for my stuff like, my w2s, my paystubs etc????

    Has anyone gone through this? Any specific questions related to residency? Does she need to take information about the hospital like brochures, etc.... does a visa interview for a Physician focus on the hospital and its operations????

    you can claim him if:
    1) He didn't earn more than $3500 in 2010
    2) You have proof of providing more than 50% of his expenses (ie. paid his tuition etc.)
    3) He was in the US for more than 180 days in 2010 (ie. US resident for tax purposes)

    If you paid for his tuition, you may be able to claim tuition credits for him too.

    Refugees from Sudan have a tough time with USCIS, let alone people from other nations. Refugees from Sudan have a tough time. Period.     I am with H-1 visa. Recently, I help another company finish one project, then I received a stipend of $8K. They will send me 1099 misc form for tax purpose. Does it affect my H-1 status and green card application? Thank you.

    Do you have EAD? If not, you may be in trouble as H1 does not allow you to do a side job.
