I agree. I think each of us should commit to getting AT LEAST 5 more volunteers for the protest in San Jose. This could be family/friends/neighbors etc. We also need a poll to track how many will show up on the 14th.

saw an interesting video on youtube the other day. The first thing that came to mind was the eb2-eb3 fights. If only we can fight together rather than each other ! ;)

I think what has happened here is that DOS was frustrated with the pace in which USCIS was processing applications. So in order to push them to work faster, they made all categories current. This strategy worked and USCIS approved 60,000 visa in 15 0r 20 or however many days.
Then USCIS communicated with DOS that annual quota has been exhausted and thus DOS published the revised bulletin.
My 2 cents.
but why in 15 days? They had upto Sept 2007 to use up those numbers. So they worked overtime to make sure they dont have to accept new applications. Can they atleast admit to that?

GC Visa's are per country per year, where as H1's are not per country based, we indians used most H1's and stood in queue for GC's of course there is path so we stood, in fact it is one attraction they used to bring over here, to start with, per country GC visa limit is a poor thought.
GC quota should be better tied to H1 quota or raise the limit and god knows when did they put the numbers per country GC, before H1b program or after H1b program.
H1b program allowed hundred's of thousands to come in, in fact which they encouraged i can dare to say and GC visa count is not according to that and they let all these families to stay in limbo or wait forever is not a good sign.
Irony is majority of these folks are purposed to solve or improve all kinds of problems ranging from improving enterprise's response time from months to minutes or minutes to secs and other kinds improvements, who's families and them selves stuck in a decade long "legal immigration" battle of their life.

After reading lots of forums contributors, my 2 cents :
a) I think the first thing is ban those people who advise separation of interests or make invidual groups in forums.
As if things happening in india are not enough to divide people on all fronts, a new separation criteria is created here on EB1/EB2/EB3. A lot of us are very creative..wow !!
b) Initiative needs to be well spent and well thought. Its a forum for ideas and further on implementation. So, its for everyone. Taking initiative is not bad, go ahead, but walking tall on other peoples misery is not really very cool !!
People are waiting for 10 years in line, come on..think, if this happens to all of us..
c) Legal and illegal efforts. People accusing core of bank accounts withdrawls and all that nonsense, do not need any rebuttal.
The harshness of things is creeping in people, but pls. some sincerity is also needed.
I thank all of you who have worked hard for the benefit of all of us.

My wife's 485/EAD/AP checks got cashed today. Biometric check not cashed yet. Although when I enter the receipt number in the USCIS website, couldn't find the case . :confused:
All receipts number(from back of check) start with SRCxxxxxx, which means Texas i guess.

I looked at both the service center webpages(texas & nebraska) & I-485 application has to be sent to Nebraska only.I do not understand now why they are transferring the application from nebraska to Texas
if I-140 is approved at Texas.

Attorney mailed AOS at NSC (delivered on 7/2/07: he said all EB applications has to go to NSC irrespective of the center of I-140 appoval). I donot understand if it is to be transferred to TSC why it should have been invited at NSC-may be receipt #s are generated at NSC and cases are transferred electronically to different centers for handling depending upon work load of the center. NSC may be the monitoring center. Going by discussions here it looks like TSC is quick and fast. Any guesses?

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003

Current Status:EB3 PD 08/2004, I140 Approved, Got EAD, Good relations with current employer
I have no realistic hopes by getting GC by end of next year.
New employment: Have an offer to start a new job around middle of next year by which 180 days will be complete. New job is very different than current one. Here is my plan:
1. Don't file AC21, hope that I won't receive RFE since my PD wont be current for a long time.
2. Change address, but give friend's address in the same city as mentioned on application
3. Convince current employer to respond to RFE (in case any) positively
4. May be have an arrangement with current employer to work part time when I start new job. So that way, I'll remain on previous employer's payroll and he can respond to RFE
Does this sound far fetched?

<Rant>There is not mistake, i always feel that there is some @#$hole at the USCIS or state dept whose only goal in life is to get a sadistic kick by toying with the dates. How can these @#$@#@'s not realize that there is a person behind each visa number </Rant>
Like my title says - Could it be a mistake on their part for EB3 I ? Was it meant to be 15th April 2002 ?
In March of This year it was 15th Oct 2001. Then it goes to U for untli Oct and now its 15th April 2001 (gone back 6 months !!!!) This seems odd for a new fiscal year with new Visa Quota however small EB3I may be - are there still that many 2000-2001 applications pre-adjudicated in the system waiting for a visa that they had to roll it back ?
